Bad Sub Nurses| Throwing out TEST Strips!! | Type I Diabetes (Type I Tuesday)

We’ve got an amazing school nurse who knows how to care for a child with Type I Diabetes. She communicates so well with us. She’s gone very rarely. The last two sub nurses we’ve had, were not trained to care for a Type 1 diabetic child! They ended up causing us so much stress and so many sleepless nights for me. Unable to test blood sugar, unable to properly give a shot, throwing out an entire bottle of strips without telling us and sending him home without strips in his diabetes bag! What would you do? I’m going to be Henry’s new sub nurse- I’ll go back and forth as needed. It’s what I feel needs to happen to keep him safe. Thanking God for finding our amazing full time nurse who rarely takes a day off. We have been so blessed.
