Diabetes Hope Foundation
We were asked to create a story-based short film to share with newly diagnosed ‘at-risk’ teens the experience that the Diabetes Hope Camps have to offer. These youth often arrive feeling anxious, nervous and very alone… they leave just a few days later feeling connected and supported. We travelled to camps at Tim Horton’s Onondaga Farms and Camp Otonabee in Ottawa to capture kids doing amazing activities and interviewed a few of them to tell their stories.
Diabetes Hope was created in 1999 by Barbara Pasternak. It is the only Canadian Charity providing support directly to children and youth with Diabetes. They provide emotional and financial support to improve and enhance the quality of life for children living in Ontario with both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.
Their programs provide children and adolescents with survival tools they need to achieve success in all areas of their lives.
