Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is the leading global organization funding T1D research. Millions of people around the world live with type 1 diabetes (T1D), a life-threatening autoimmune disease that strikes both children and adults. There is no way to prevent it, and at present, no cure. JDRF works every day to change this by amassing grassroots support, deep scientific knowledge and strong industry and academic partnerships to fund research.
The JDRF identity was created with these key considerations in mind. We have dropped the formal name “Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation” from our identity and will be known simply as JDRF. This better reflects our commitment to work for ALL those with T1D.
The graphic element of “T1D” in the logo design reinforces our focus on T1D, while the “momentum lines” that frame the JDRF name help to communicate the energy and urgency with which we are pursuing our mission. Most important, it is reflective of both the progress we’ve made and the accelerated progress we aim for. http://www.purepathcapitalgroup.com/Leadership.html JDRF Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter https://jdrf-kentucky.ejoinme.org/gala Alfred Gerriets Full list of Video Credit see here http://broadcaster.beazil.net/public/credits/youtube/videos/178719 You’re the reason for our success. Every dollar we put toward research comes from donations. So when you support JDRF with your time, talent, voice and, yes, your money, you enable us to advance even more research. There are many ways to join the JDRF family, but for 45 years there has been only one reason—because we are the organization that will turn Type One into Type None. Take Action – Don’t be indifferent! The Health Care and Social Assistance sector comprises establishments providing health care and social assistance for individuals. The industries in this sector include physician’s offices, hospitals, medical laboratories, nursing homes, and youth and family service centers. JDRF walk means a lot for every T1D child, who joins the walk. They all deeply thank every participant, because that means a lot for them. T1D kids see that all these people really care about them and are sympathetic to their horrible disease. This JDRF walk is a great social event for every city of America. A great number of people gather together with one common goal – to find the cure for T1D. All T1D children hope, that the cure will soon be found and they will be healthy and safe. During the walk, people are happy and have bright smiles of hope on their faces. Frank words of thanks can be heard from everywhere. The Monroe Downtown Master Plan reflects a vision for a place where people live, work and play; where restaurants, entertainment venues and shops continually attract residents and visitors. To revitalize the downtown of Monroe and realize the vision expressed in the Downtown Master Plan, recommendations were set forth in six key areas; land use, transportation, open space, urban design, character and cultural resources and market position/economic development. Consistent with the vision, the plan also offers suggestion for physical improvements to downtown. Type 1 diabetes in children used to be known as juvenile diabetes or insulin-dependent diabetes. Alternative Names of T1D: Insulin-dependent diabetes; Juvenile onset diabetes; Diabetes – type 1. Type 1 Diabetes – In type 1 diabetes, your immune system mistakenly destroys the cells in your pancreas that make insulin. Your body treats these cells as invaders and destroys them. This can happen over a few weeks, months, or years. When enough beta cells are destroyed, your pancreas stops making insulin, or makes too little insulin. Because the pancreas does not make insulin, insulin needs to be replaced. Insulin does not come in a pill.
