JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. JDRF’s goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until we achieve a world without T1D. Here you can find the full list of Credits http://broadcaster.beazil.net/public/credits/youtube/videos/188488 Burton is a city in Genesee County in the U.S. state of Michigan and a suburb of Flint. The population was 30,308 at the 2000 census, making Burton the second largest city in Genesee County. Although there were other persons who purchased land earlier, and even some who attempted to settle there, the first permanent white settler in the area is considered to be Levi Gilkey, who purchased land on May 11, 1831, and settled near the mouth of the Gilkey Creek (in what is now part of Flint). In 1833, Burton was part of Grand Blanc Township when the Grand Blanc was initially organized. Many of the original settlers of Burton came from the towns of Adams and Henderson in Jefferson County, New York. JDRF is the only organization with a strategic research plan to end T1D. Our strategies include: Artificial Pancreas Systems Artificial pancreas systems will eliminate blood glucose testing and carb counting by totally automating insulin dosing, initially preventing dangerous low blood sugars and eventually ensuring ideal glucose control. Complications JDRF’s complications research is leading to therapies to treat and even reverse some of the debilitating, costly, and life-threatening complications caused by T1D. Health Care & Social Assistance sector comprises firms providing health care and social assistance for individuals. The sector includes both health care and social assistance because it is sometimes difficult to distinguish between the boundaries of these two activities. The industries in this sector are arranged on a continuum starting with providing medical care exclusively, continuing with those providing health care and social assistance and finally finishing with only social assistance. The services provided in this sector are delivered by trained health practitioners and social workers with requisite experience. If you live with T1D, you spend a lot of time thinking about your blood-sugar levels now and worrying about the complications that T1D may one day bring. You don’t want anyone else you love to ever know the physical, emotional and financial toll this disease takes. You want a cure. So does JDRF. And we are committed to funding the development of new therapies and treatments to keep people with T1D healthier, longer, until that cure is found. That’s why we invest in multiple therapeutic approaches to cure, prevent and treat T1D. We identify and invest in promising therapies in their early stages, helping researchers pursue innovative ideas and approaches. Jessica, a young woman with diabetes, joined JDRF Ride and tells about her experience being a cyclist. JDRF coaches help and support everyone, who joins the ride. Jessica is sure, that everyone can be a cyclist, especially with JDRF team. What is more important, that is the wish – it’s not about cycling a hundred miles in a high speed – it’s about self-esteem and self-belief. JDRF coaches struggle together with T1D people and they win together. They are amazing and give T1D people hope and true faith in their strength. Jessica isn’t unique in her experience – many people with diabetes like Jessica joined HDRF Ride team and now are stronger in their disease battle.
