Dialed-In with Don Knabe Episode 7: Public Health
This month on Dialed-In, we take a look at the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, one of those departments in the County that you might not know too much about, but probably impacts you every day. Public Health is responsible for protecting the health of our residents by preventing diseases and promoting the well-being of all 10 million people in the County. They educate residents about all kinds of health issues – from heart disease to cancer, diabetes, and HIV/AIDS. The Department also keeps us safe by inspecting restaurants, our water supply and apartment buildings. They even have a team that prepares in case of natural and man-made disasters, and works on bio-terrorism and toxic exposures. Join me as is sit down with Dr. Johnathan Fielding, Dr. Maxine Liggins and Brenda Lopez.
