JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. JDRF’s goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until we achieve a world without T1D. See full list of Video Credits http://broadcaster.beazil.net/public/credits/youtube/videos/172956 While insulin injections or infusion allow a person with T1D to stay alive, they do not cure the disease, nor do they necessarily prevent the possibility of the disease’s serious effects, which may include: kidney failure, blindness, nerve damage, amputations, heart attack, stroke, and pregnancy complications. Although type 1 diabetes is a serious and difficult disease, treatment options are improving all the time, and people with T1D can lead full and active lives. JDRF is driving research to improve the technology people with T1D use to monitor blood sugar levels and deliver the proper doses of insulin, as well as research that will ultimately deliver a cure. Diagnosing Diabetes:
– A1C Test – measures your average blood glucose for the past 2 to 3 months. Streamwood, Illinois is primarily served by the Poplar Creek Library District and the Streamwood Park District. Poplar Creek Public Library, Schaumburg Township District Library, Streamwood Park District, Schaumburg Park District and Gail Borden Library. The Streamwood Stride is an endurance race. It is held in Streamwood on the second weekend of June. The 2010 Streamwood Stride was its 12th race, and included the 5k run/walk, the 10k run, kiddie races of 50m and 100m, the double derby (which is Streamwood Stride teamed up with Bartlett Blossom Run), and the 1-mile (1.6 km) fun run. Many people are thoughtful and leave Estate Gifts to JDRF. In this way they show their care for the future. Anne Zaring is a mother of two T1D children and her life is very difficult. Anne is with JDRF and a part of her estate planning is for JDRF. Lee Ducat appeals to think about the estate planning, because it’s important for the future generations. Many parents consider that their responsibility for their children, especially T1D children, is to make sure that they do all they can to help them first with the care and the management of the disease and second, to make sure that they are going above beyond to help find the cure for the disease. Every parent of a T1D child is committed to find a cure and to prevent this disease. The Health Care and Social Assistance sector comprises establishments providing health care and social assistance for individuals. The industries in this sector include physician’s offices, hospitals, medical laboratories, nursing homes, and youth and family service centers. Since its founding more than 40 years ago by parents of children affected by type 1 diabetes, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) has been committed to finding a cure for all those individuals living with the disease. Today, JDRF acknowledges that this commitment will not likely be fulfilled in the near term. Although our ultimate goal—curing type 1 diabetes—remains unchanged, we are equally committed to better treating and preventing the disease. These goals aim to ensure that both children and adults living with type 1 diabetes remain healthy so that they can fully benefit from a cure when it becomes available.
