Diabetes has three types Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes and Gestational diabetes. Type 1 diabetes occur when the formation of insulin stops and the level of sugar in blood increase. People with type 1 diabetes have to regularly take insulin to control the level of sugar. And Type 2 diabetes occur when the insulin does not work properly. Mainly overweight people are more likely to get type 2 diabetes. Gestational diabetes occurs in pregnant women due to hormone changes.

Diet for Diabetics:

Experts suggest a special diet for diabetic people. Diabetic people should consume 52.5 gm carbohydrate and 360 calories for Breakfast. For instance, slices of whole wheat bread with margarine and Oats with skim milk, a banana. However protein is better than carbohydrates for diabetes.

In Lunch, 75 gm carbohydrate and 535 calories is recommended. For example one cup of vegetable soup, one turkey sandwich, and an apple. In Dinner 635 calories, 65 grams carbohydrate is suggested. 4 ounces broiled chicken breast with basil, two third cup cooked brown rice, and half cup cooked carrot.

 With type 2 diabetes eating an adequate amount of protein and carbohydrate is very important. People with diabetes must see a doctor and get a diet chart for them to avoid the diabetes complications.

Lean beef and black beans are also very good. The fiber in the beans control blood sugar and lower blood cholesterol. Corn is a high carbohydrate vegetable it contains about 32 grams of carbohydrate in just one ear. Grilled pepper and mushroom salad is great for weight maintenance.

Steps to fight Diabetes:

Achieving a healthy weight can help prevent type 2 diabetes, being physical active is important to control diabetes. Experts say that if you are overweight then lose some of it because that may improve the body’s ability to improve insulin, blood fats and blood pressure. Don’t eat chips or fries.

Get enough sleep, don’t sleep too much or very little. Seven or eight hours of sleep is quite good.

Check for your blood sugar regularly.

Don’t stress out, mange your stress. Get rid of physical and mental stresses. Do breathing exercises, Yoga.

Reduce the salt in your diet. it helps lower blood pressure.

If you have heart disease, then it may create the risk factor for diabetes, so you must undergo tests related to diabetes in case you have heart disease. Monitor your Blood pressure and cholesterol levels regularly.

Keep moisturizing your body, take care that you do not get bruises and cuts or treat them immediately with antibiotic cream.

Please quit smoking.

Avoid Trans fats and saturated fats. Opt for mono and polyunsaturated fats like olive oil.
