We are JDRF – Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. We won’t stop until we create a world without T1D (type one diabetes). We are committed to eradicating type 1 diabetes and its effects for everyone with type 1, and at risk of developing it. T1D treatment options are improving all the time. We are driving research to improve the technology people with T1D use to monitor blood sugar levels and research that will ultimately deliver a cure.
Diabetes is a lifelong condition that causes a person’s blood sugar (glucose) level to become too high. The hormone insulin – is responsible for controlling the amount of glucose in the blood.
JDRF’s Mission: is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by this disease.
JDRF – the type 1 diabetes charity. Join the worldwide army of people who are making it their personal mission to fight type 1 diabetes. Together, we will create a world without type 1 diabetes. The day-to-day operations of the city are under the supervision of the City Manager and his/her staff. The City Manager is responsible for selecting all department heads, preparation of the budget and supervision of all employees through his/her appointments. The city manager serves at the direction of the Mayor and city council which are elected positions. The current city manager is Ryan Cotton, former village manager of Spring Lake, Michigan, who was appointed on Feb. 9 2012 by the council to replace retiring Soren Wolff, who announced his plans in the spring of 2011 and stepped down in September. Wolff served as the city manager since 1988, and as assistant city manager in the mid 1970s. The current assistant city manager is Greg Robinson. JDRF walk gives people the feeling, that they are the part of the solution. T1D families meet people with the same problems and life and that’s really amazing for them. People bring their families and many of them donate to support JDRF research. T1D families bring awareness to the disease and they honestly believe that T1D is a curable disease. T1D is an awful disease, but with all the walkers help and support it can be beaten. T1D kids need special care and great support and during the walk they get it. JDRF research gives T1D people great hope for soon cure. JDRF walk is a great social event, because all the participants walk to find the cure. People with T1D would never benefit from JDRF-funded innovations without our donors. The work to create transformational therapies to help people live with T1D cannot—and must not—be allowed to stop because dedicated researchers lack funds. Laboratory studies that are unlocking the mysteries of T1D and accelerating progress toward a cure and prevention must continue. With the generous help of supporters, JDRF is pursuing a diversified, dynamic research agenda that is moving us ever closer to a world without T1D. JDRF is committed to doing the greatest good for the largest number of people in the shortest amount of time so we understand the importance of funding these trials. The Health Care and Social Assistance sector comprises establishments providing health care and social assistance for individuals. The sector includes both health care and social assistance because it is sometimes difficult to distinguish between the boundaries of these two activities. The industries in this sector are arranged on a continuum starting with those establishments providing medical care exclusively, continuing with those providing health care and social assistance, and finally finishing with those providing only social assistance. The services provided by establishments in this sector are delivered by trained professionals. You’re the reason for our success. Every dollar we put toward research comes from donations. So when you support JDRF with your time, talent, voice and, yes, your money, you enable us to advance even more research. There are many ways to join the JDRF family, but for 45 years there has been only one reason—because we are the organization that will turn Type One into Type None. Take Action – Don’t be indifferent!
