All Video Credits you can find here http://broadcaster.beazil.net/public/credits/youtube/videos/172480 A professional backcountry snowboarder, Sean Busby, is a diabetic person for about nine years. For all these nine years he is with JDRF and is trying to do everything he can to help T1D society. Sean says that taking care of diabetes every day is a hard work. Most people even don’t realize how it is. JDRF has a special research program which can give hope for all T1D people. The program has also led to ground breaking treatments and prevention for complications related to diabetes like blindness and kidney disease. However, the congress considers stopping to renew the program. Sean Busby invites everyone to become JDRF advocate at Washington and to make the congress hear all the voices. People with T1D would never benefit from JDRF-funded innovations without our donors. The work to create transformational therapies to help people live with T1D cannot—and must not—be allowed to stop because dedicated researchers lack funds. Laboratory studies that are unlocking the mysteries of T1D and accelerating progress toward a cure and prevention must continue. With the generous help of supporters, JDRF is pursuing a diversified, dynamic research agenda that is moving us ever closer to a world without T1D. JDRF is committed to doing the greatest good for the largest number of people in the shortest amount of time so we understand the importance of funding these trials. Since Wayne is neither an incorporated area nor a census-designated place, all the data is for the ZIP code 19087. As of the census of 2010, there were 32,225 people and 12,754 households residing in the community. The median age was 40.8. The racial makeup of the community was 85.5% White, 7.9% Asian and 5.3% African American, while 3.7% of the population was Hispanic or Latino of any race. The median income for a household in the community was $118,801, and 5.1% of the population was below the poverty line. Wayne is located on the Main Line (the Paoli/Thorndale Line on SEPTA Regional Rail). JDRF has led the search for a cure for T1D since our founding in 1970. In those days, people commonly called the disease “juvenile diabetes” because it was frequently diagnosed in, and strongly associated with, young children. Our organization began as the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Later, to emphasize exactly how we planned to end the disease, we added a word and became the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.Today, we know an equal number of children and adults are diagnosed every day—approximately 110 people per day. Thanks to better therapies—which JDRF funding has been instrumental in developing and making available—people with T1D live longer and stay healthier while they await the cure. Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune disease in which a person’s pancreas stops producing insulin, a hormone people need to get energy from food. T1D strikes both children and adults at any age and suddenly. Its onset has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle. Though T1D’s causes are not yet entirely understood, scientists believe that both genetic factors and environmental triggers play a role. There is currently nothing you can do to prevent it, and there is no cure. Type 1 diabetes strikes both children and adults at any age. It comes on suddenly, causes dependence on injected or pumped insulin for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications.
