Calypso Cove features three pools including a plunge pool, which you can slide into from either an enclosed or open slide (our safety rules state that all slide riders must be a minimum of 48″ tall, and less than 300lbs). The zero-depth pool is a beach-entry activity pool with water-spraying animals, palm trees with tipping coconuts and a play structure. The deck area has lawn chairs for sunning and umbrellas to offer relief in the shade. The six-lane lap pool is the spot for lifeguard training as well as swimming lessons and family swimming.
Located within Royal Palm Park, the Caribbean-themed aquatic facility also features concession sales; complimentary shade umbrellas and lounge chairs; a party room rental; and- of course- seasonal group and individual swim lessons. The park consists of two pavilions with picnic tables, three half-court basketball courts, and a refurbished and expanded fishing dock. The sector includes both health care and social assistance because it is sometimes difficult to distinguish between the boundaries of these two activities. The industries in this sector are arranged on a continuum starting with those establishments providing medical care exclusively, continuing with those providing health care and social assistance, and finally finishing with those providing only social assistance. The services provided by establishments in this sector are delivered by trained professionals. All industries in the sector share this commonality of process, namely, labor inputs of health practitioners or social workers with the requisite expertise. People with T1D would never benefit from JDRF-funded innovations without our donors. The work to create transformational therapies to help people live with T1D cannot—and must not—be allowed to stop because dedicated researchers lack funds. Laboratory studies that are unlocking the mysteries of T1D and accelerating progress toward a cure and prevention must continue. With the generous help of supporters, JDRF is pursuing a diversified, dynamic research agenda that is moving us ever closer to a world without T1D. JDRF is committed to doing the greatest good for the largest number of people in the shortest amount of time so we understand the importance of funding these trials. Today more than 50 human trials, studying life-changing drugs, treatments and devices, are under way with our support. That’s 10 times the number less than a decade ago! Alfred F. Type 1 diabetes (Juvenile Diabetes) is usually diagnosed in children and young adults, and was previously known as juvenile diabetes. Only 5% of people with diabetes have this form of the disease.
In type 1 diabetes, the body does not produce insulin. The body breaks down the sugars and starches you eat into a simple sugar called glucose, which it uses for energy. Insulin is a hormone that the body needs to get glucose from the bloodstream into the cells of the body. With the help of insulin therapy and other treatments, even young children can learn to manage their condition and live long, healthy lives.
18.2 million people in the United States (6.3 percent of the population) have been diagnosed with diabetes. 5 to 10 percent of all people with diabetes have Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune disease in which a person’s pancreas stops producing insulin, a hormone that enables people to get energy from food. It occurs when the body’s immune system attacks and destroys the insulin-producing cells in the pancreas, called beta cells. While its causes are not yet entirely understood, scientists believe that both genetic factors and environmental triggers are involved. Its onset has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle. JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. JDRF’s goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until we achieve a world without T1D.
