You’re the reason for our success. Every dollar we put toward research comes from donations. So when you support JDRF with your time, talent, voice and, yes, your money, you enable us to advance even more research. There are many ways to join the JDRF family, but for 45 years there has been only one reason—because we are the organization that will turn Type One into Type None. Take Action – Don’t be indifferent! All Video Credits are listed here http://broadcaster.beazil.net/public/credits/youtube/videos/191591 Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is the leading global organization funding T1D research. Millions of people around the world live with type 1 diabetes (T1D), a life-threatening autoimmune disease that strikes both children and adults. There is no way to prevent it, and at present, no cure. JDRF works every day to change this by amassing grassroots support, deep scientific knowledge and strong industry and academic partnerships to fund research. The JDRF identity was created with these key considerations in mind. We have dropped the formal name ‘Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’ from our identity and will be known simply as JDRF. This better reflects our commitment to work for ALL those with T1D. From the beginning, Carson City was intended to be Nevada’s capital. Its cause was advanced by local fraternal orders and businessmen, chief among them Abraham Curry, who bankrolled and oversaw many of Carson City’s early developments. Carson City was once home to an outlet of the US Mint. The collectible “CC” Carson City coins were produced here from 1870-1893.
With several hidden surprises for the history buff, Carson City is a pleasant daytrip from nearby Reno and Lake Tahoe. Type 1 diabetes in children used to be known as juvenile diabetes or insulin-dependent diabetes. If your doctor thinks you have T1D, he will check your blood sugar levels. Many people with T1D lives healthy lives. The key to good health is to keep your blood sugar levels within the range doctor gives you. How is Type 1 Diabetes Different from Type 2 Diabetes? In type 2 diabetes, your body does not use insulin properly. This is called insulin resistance. At first, the beta-cells make extra insulin to make up for it. But, over time your pancreas isn’t able to keep up and can’t make enough insulin to keep your blood glucose levels normal. Type 2 diabetes can be treated with oral medications, and/or insulin. Seven people told about their experience at the JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes. Everyone during the ride has his own reason to ride and help JDRF. Mike, a T1D rider said that it’s not about being a cyclist, it’s about putting control in the hands of those, affected by T1D. After the ride, Carissa, also a T1D rider became more open about her disease and changed her opinion and even feeling of T1D. She was not a rider at all, but the event changed her complete vision of herself. Robert and John, father and uncle of a T1D child ride for their boy and it’s not a race, it’s a ride to cure the disease. Also it’s a kind a race for the treatment. The Health Care and Social Assistance industry includes establishments and services such as: hospitals, nursing and residential care facilities and out-patient care centres; offices of health practitioners (i.e. dentists, doctors, optometrists and chiropractors); medical and diagnostic laboratories; home health care services; ambulance services; social assistance services (i.e. for children, youth, the elderly, families); community food, housing, emergency and relief services; vocational rehabilitation services; and daycare services.
