In this long term study researchers found those drinking at least 1.5 cups a day were less likely to develop type 2 diabetes. Those drinking the most coffee reduced their risk of type 2 diabetes by 54%. They also had lower levels of protein markers of inflammation and higher levels of blood antioxidants.
