It is proud to be the 482nd City in California and the 28th City in Riverside County. The primary reason for incorporation was the strong desire for enhanced police services and local control over planning and zoning issues. The City covers a 44-square mile area encompassing the communities of Jurupa Hills, Mira Loma, Glen Avon, Pedley, Indian Hills, Belltown, Sunnyslope, Crestmore Heights, and Rubidoux. It borders San Bernardino County to the north, Riverside to the south and east, Eastvale and San Bernardino County to the west. Portions of the Santa Ana River traverse the southern portion of the City. JDRF is the world’s leading charitable funder of type 1 diabetes research and raise money to drive world class research. We aim to find new ways to treat type 1 diabetes and its complications, prevent type 1 from developing and find the cure for people who already have the condition.

Type 1 diabetes happens when your immune system destroys cells in your pancreas called beta cells. They’re the ones that make insulin. What Treatments are Used for Type 1 Diabetes?
The two goals of diabetes treatment are to make sure you feel well day-to-day and to prevent or delay long-term health problems. The best way to reach those goals is by:
– taking insulin
– planning your meals—choosing what, how much, and when to eat
– being physically active
You want a cure. So does JDRF. And we are committed to funding the development of new therapies and treatments to keep people with T1D healthier, longer, until that cure is found. You’re the reason for our success. Every dollar we put toward research comes from donations. So when you support JDRF with your time, talent, voice and, yes, your money, you enable us to advance even more research. There are many ways to join the JDRF family, but for 45 years there has been only one reason—because we are the organization that will turn Type One into Type None. Take Action – Don’t be indifferent! JDRF made a wonderful short-film about kids vision of T1D. Nasir, a small boy with diabetes, explains in his own words what T1D actually is. In our body lives a small Pancreas, which produces Beta-cells, which make insulin. But when we have diabetes, a T1D monster, a freaky creature, steals Beta-cells and eats them and that’s why our body doesn’t obtain insulin. Nasir would like to invent a special machine, which would produce extra Beta-cells and a Super-Man will come with these new Beta-cells to our body and kill the monster. Nasir believes that a great number of Beta-cells will be needed, but only then we can be healthy.
