JDRF is the leading global organization focused on type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. Driven by passionate, grassroots volunteers connected to children, adolescents, and adults with this disease, JDRF is now the largest charitable supporter of T1D research. The goal of JDRF research is to improve the lives of all people affected by T1D by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D. JDRF collaborates with a wide spectrum of partners who share this goal.
JDRF aims to find new ways to treat type 1 diabetes and its complications, prevent type 1 from developing and find the cure for people who already have the condition. Alfred F. Every dollar we put toward research comes from donations. So when you support JDRF with your time, talent, voice and, yes, your money, you enable us to advance even more research. There are many ways to join the JDRF family, but for 45 years there has been only one reason—because we are the organization that will turn Type One into Type None. Take Action – Don’t be indifferent! Health Care & Social Assistance sector comprises firms providing health care and social assistance for individuals. The sector includes both health care and social assistance because it is sometimes difficult to distinguish between the boundaries of these two activities. The industries in this sector are arranged on a continuum starting with providing medical care exclusively, continuing with those providing health care and social assistance and finally finishing with only social assistance. The services provided in this sector are delivered by trained health practitioners and social workers with requisite experience. We are JDRF – Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. We won’t stop until we create a world without T1D (type one diabetes). We are committed to eradicating type 1 diabetes and its effects for everyone with type 1, and at risk of developing it. T1D treatment options are improving all the time. We are driving research to improve the technology people with T1D use to monitor blood sugar levels and research that will ultimately deliver a cure. Carling Nolan, a professional golf player has T1D. She shares her life story and T1D experience. Her disease didn’t prevent her from become a professional sport-player. Her life isn’t easy but she struggles every day and JDRF has her back. Carling dreams to become like her father and her dreams came true. Even though people told her that having diabetes would make that an impossible thing. Nolan has just picked the sport that was slower passed, packed her golf bag full of juice boxes and hit the course. Carling instantly fell in love with this sport and diabetes never slowed her down. Diabetes doesn’t stop her, she is a professional golfer for 4 years now. Nolan’s T1D let her to JDRF and the amazing work they do.
