JDRF works towards a day when there is no more type 1 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is usually diagnosed in children and young adults, and was previously known as juvenile diabetes. In type 1 diabetes, the body does not produce insulin. Diabetes – is a problem with your body that causes blood glucose (sugar) levels to rise higher than normal. This is also called hyperglycemia. When you eat your body breaks food down into glucose and sends it into the blood. Insulin then helps move the glucose from the blood into your cells. When glucose enters your cells, it is either used as fuel for energy right away or stored for later use. In a person with diabetes, there is a problem with insulin. But, not everyone with diabetes has the same problem. There are different types of diabetes – type 1, type 2, and a condition called gestational diabetes, which happens during pregnancy. If you have diabetes, your body either doesn’t make enough insulin, it can’t use the insulin it does make very well, or both. JDRF’s goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until we achieve a world without T1D. JDRF collaborates with a wide spectrum of partners and is the only organization with the scientific resources, regulatory influence, and a working plan to better treat, prevent, and eventually cure T1D. JDRF is currently sponsoring $530 million in scientific research in 17 countries. In 2012 alone, JDRF provided more than $110 million to T1D research. JDRF’s goal is a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D). Our plan is to create a future where:
– Your blood glucose levels can be controlled automatically
– You can sleep, eat, exercise, and live as if T1D is not in your life
– T1D can be cured and is no longer present in your body
– T1D can be prevented and never threaten anyone again. In short JDRF seeks to turn Type One into Type None. https://jdrf-kentucky.ejoinme.org/gala Alfred F. Health Care and Social Assistance comprises establishments primarily engaged in providing health care by diagnosis and treatment, providing residential care for medical and social reasons, and providing social assistance, such as counselling, welfare, child protection, community housing and food services, vocational rehabilitation and child care, to those requiring such assistance.Excluded from this sector are aerobic classes in Amusement, Gambling, and Recreation Industries and nonmedical diet and weight reducing centers in Personal and Laundry Services. Although these can be viewed as health services, these services are not typically delivered by health practitioners. You’re the reason for our success. Every dollar we put toward research comes from donations. So when you support JDRF with your time, talent, voice and, yes, your money, you enable us to advance even more research. There are many ways to join the JDRF family, but for 45 years there has been only one reason—because we are the organization that will turn Type One into Type None. Take Action – Don’t be indifferent! The cost of rescuing an children is not quantified only in dollars! You can Spread a Word and invite your friends to HELP!
