JDRF has led the search for a cure for T1D since our founding in 1970. In those days, people commonly called the disease ‘juvenile diabetes’ because it was frequently diagnosed in, and strongly associated with, young children. Our organization began as the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Later, to emphasize exactly how we planned to end the disease, we added a word and became the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.Today, we know an equal number of children and adults are diagnosed every day—approximately 110 people per day. Thanks to better therapies—which JDRF funding has been instrumental in developing and making available—people with T1D live longer and stay healthier while they await the cure. So a few years ago, we changed our name to JDRF: Juvenile Diabetes Reseach Foundation. List of Video Credits can be found here http://broadcaster.beazil.net/public/credits/youtube/videos/154405 Famous American Rock singer, Bret Michaels is T1D person since his early childhood. He is JDRF member and JDRF has his back. He constantly supports JDRF organization and hopes for soon cure for every T1D people. Bret says that thanks to JDRF he became stronger. Bret believes that the help of everyone is crucial for JDRF research, because every person’s life does really care. JDRF is improving lives and curing diabetes every second of the day. JDRF research team is working hard day and night to fight T1D and to find the ultimate cure for T1D. JDRF is greatly supported by Bret Michaels and his musical career. Excluded from this sector are aerobic classes in Subsector 713, Amusement, Gambling, and Recreation Industries and nonmedical diet and weight reducing centers in Subsector 812, Personal and Laundry Services. Although these can be viewed as health services, these services are not typically delivered by health practitioners. People with T1D would never benefit from JDRF-funded innovations without our donors. The work to create transformational therapies to help people live with T1D cannot—and must not—be allowed to stop because dedicated researchers lack funds. Laboratory studies that are unlocking the mysteries of T1D and accelerating progress toward a cure and prevention must continue. With the generous help of supporters, JDRF is pursuing a diversified, dynamic research agenda that is moving us ever closer to a world without T1D. JDRF is committed to doing the greatest good for the largest number of people in the shortest amount of time so we understand the importance of funding these trials. July 22, 2002 celebrated the new library’s opening day. The cutting edge features combined with enhanced traditional library services. JDRF works towards a day when there is no more type 1 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is usually diagnosed in children and young adults, and was previously known as juvenile diabetes. In type 1 diabetes, the body does not produce insulin. Diabetes – is a problem with your body that causes blood glucose (sugar) levels to rise higher than normal. This is also called hyperglycemia. When you eat your body breaks food down into glucose and sends it into the blood. Insulin then helps move the glucose from the blood into your cells. When glucose enters your cells, it is either used as fuel for energy right away or stored for later use. In a person with diabetes, there is a problem with insulin.
