The Health Care and Social Assistance sector comprises establishments providing health care and social assistance for individuals. The sector includes both health care and social assistance because it is sometimes difficult to distinguish between the boundaries of these two activities. The industries in this sector are arranged on a continuum starting with those establishments providing medical care exclusively, continuing with those providing health care and social assistance, and finally finishing with those providing only social assistance. The services provided by establishments in this sector are delivered by trained professionals. All industries in the sector share this commonality of process, namely, labor inputs of health practitioners or social workers with the requisite expertise. Many of the industries in the sector are defined based on the educational degree held by the practitioners included in the industry. The braver then you think type. The type that knows the time will come when we put type one behind us. We are the progress is inevitable type. The hopeful for a cure type. The type that will stop at nothing until type one becomes type NONE. Join JDRF and be a part of an important event. Type 1 diabetes (Juvenile Diabetes) is usually diagnosed in children and young adults, and was previously known as juvenile diabetes. Only 5% of people with diabetes have this form of the disease. In type 1 diabetes, the body does not produce insulin. The body breaks down the sugars and starches you eat into a simple sugar called glucose, which it uses for energy. Insulin is a hormone that the body needs to get glucose from the bloodstream into the cells of the body. With the help of insulin therapy and other treatments, even young children can learn to manage their condition and live long, healthy lives. 18.2 million people in the United States (6.3 percent of the population) have been diagnosed with diabetes. Since its founding more than 40 years ago by parents of children affected by type 1 diabetes, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) has been committed to finding a cure for all those individuals living with the disease. Today, JDRF acknowledges that this commitment will not likely be fulfilled in the near term. Although our ultimate goal—curing type 1 diabetes—remains unchanged, we are equally committed to better treating and preventing the disease. These goals aim to ensure that both children and adults living with type 1 diabetes remain healthy so that they can fully benefit from a cure when it becomes available. The City of Baldwin Park offers financial assistance for recreational program registration fees. Each child approved for the Recreation Subsidy Program will receive a maximum grant of $125 per fiscal year or until all funds have been exhausted. Subsidies can be applied to offset 70% of registration fees for youth programs offered by local associations or for City sponsored youth programs. The subsidy program is funded through the City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. The following information will be required with the application: 1) Copies of All Household Members Income. 2) Copy of current (IRS) family income tax return of all household members. JDRF has led the search for a cure for T1D since our founding in 1970. In those days, people commonly called the disease ‘juvenile diabetes’ because it was frequently diagnosed in, and strongly associated with, young children. Our organization began as the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Later, to emphasize exactly how we planned to end the disease, we added a word and became the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.Today, we know an equal number of children and adults are diagnosed every day—approximately 110 people per day. Thanks to better therapies—which JDRF funding has been instrumental in developing and making available—people with T1D live longer and stay healthier while they await the cure.
