During the ride people meet new friends and the coaches are amazing. JDRF team supports its participants every moment of the ride. With their help and support it’s easy for everyone, especially for the diabetics, to ride as much as they can. JDRF Ride isn’t actually a race but a ride with one mission – to find the cure for diabetes. The overall atmosphere is full of joy and happiness. Everyone should join JDRF Ride to raise money for the research and to support every T1D person. Health Care and Social Assistance comprises establishments primarily engaged in providing health care by diagnosis and treatment, providing residential care for medical and social reasons, and providing social assistance, such as counselling, welfare, child protection, community housing and food services, vocational rehabilitation and child care, to those requiring such assistance. Founded by parents determined to find a cure for their children with T1D, JDRF expanded through grassroots fundraising and advocacy efforts to become a powerhouse in the scientific community with more than 100 U.S. locations and six international affiliates. We’ve funded nearly $2 billion in research to date and made significant progress in understanding and fighting the disease. We must keep up the pace of funding so progress doesn’t slow or stop entirely. You’re the reason for our success. Every dollar we put toward research comes from donations. So when you support JDRF with your time, talent, voice and, yes, your money, you enable us to advance even more research. JDRF is the only organization with a strategic research plan to end T1D. Our strategies include: Artificial Pancreas Systems Artificial pancreas systems will eliminate blood glucose testing and carb counting by totally automating insulin dosing, initially preventing dangerous low blood sugars and eventually ensuring ideal glucose control. Complications JDRF’s complications research is leading to therapies to treat and even reverse some of the debilitating, costly, and life-threatening complications caused by T1D. Encapsulation JDRF’s encapsulation research will restore insulin independence for 18 months to two years
by implanting newly created beta cells into a protective capsule, which eliminates the need for toxic immune suppression therapies. JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. JDRF’s goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until we achieve a world without T1D.
