Hope Initiative http://louisvilleky.com/louisville-kys-central-high-school-to-host-king-concert sponsor Today millions of people in the US are suffering from T1D. Annual spending of Health Care on diabetes treatment is $15 billion. The situation does not improve. On the contrary, the number of kids with T1D grows. If somebody from your family suffers from diabetes you are also predisposed to this horrible disease. Probably those who encountered this disease thought whether one day a cure or a vaccine from diabetes would appear. JDRF is working to transform a wish of millions of people into reality. Their goal is not only to find a cure, but also to make a vaccine that would prevent the future generations from this disease. There is a lot of work to do and JDRF needs your help and support. Type 1 diabetes in children used to be known as juvenile diabetes or insulin-dependent diabetes. Alternative Names of T1D: Insulin-dependent diabetes; Juvenile onset diabetes; Diabetes – type 1. Type 1 Diabetes – In type 1 diabetes, your immune system mistakenly destroys the cells in your pancreas that make insulin. Your body treats these cells as invaders and destroys them. This can happen over a few weeks, months, or years. When enough beta cells are destroyed, your pancreas stops making insulin, or makes too little insulin. Because the pancreas does not make insulin, insulin needs to be replaced. Insulin does not come in a pill. Centreville is today a typical wealthy American suburb, composed of luxury townhomes, high-end supermarkets, strip malls, a movie theater, and large housing developments. In the Civil War, several battles were fought nearby including the First Battle of Manassas, the Second Battle of Manassas, and the Battle of Chantilly. During the winter of 1861 and early 1862 the town was significantly fortified by the Confederacy and served as a supply depot for both sides at various points in the war, and is famous for being the site of the construction of the first railroad ever built exclusively for military use, the Centreville Military Railroad.
