Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is the leading global organization funding T1D research. Millions of people around the world live with type 1 diabetes (T1D), a life-threatening autoimmune disease that strikes both children and adults. There is no way to prevent it, and at present, no cure. JDRF works every day to change this by amassing grassroots support, deep scientific knowledge and strong industry and academic partnerships to fund research.
The JDRF identity was created with these key considerations in mind. We have dropped the formal name ‘Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’ from our identity and will be known simply as JDRF. This better reflects our commitment to work for ALL those with T1D.
The graphic element of ‘T1D’ in the logo design reinforces our focus on T1D, while the ‘momentum lines’ that frame the JDRF name help to communicate the energy and urgency with which we are pursuing our mission. Most important, it is reflective of both the progress we’ve made and the accelerated progress we aim for. http://www.purepathcapitalgroup.com/Leadership.html JDRF Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter https://jdrf-kentucky.ejoinme.org/gala Alfred Gerriets List of all video credits is located here http://broadcaster.beazil.net/public/credits/youtube/videos/209512 Lee Ducat and Carol Lurie are the two women, who founded JDRF. They both had T1D sons and their family disaster lead them to this job. Lee’s physician explained to her, that her son couldn’t be cured because the diabetes research wasn’t fundraising and the only problem was the money. Lee decided to change this situation. She did everything to raise as much money for the research as she could. Lee and Carol discussed JDRF advance during their family dinners and these two tiny women actually created a great global organization. JDRF grow very fats and soon became an international organization, then they hit Washington and began to see congressmen and senators. JDRF research got big donations and the process began to develop very fast. Type 1 diabetes in children used to be known as juvenile diabetes or insulin-dependent diabetes. If your doctor thinks you have T1D, he will check your blood sugar levels. Many people with T1D lives healthy lives. The key to good health is to keep your blood sugar levels within the range doctor gives you. How is Type 1 Diabetes Different from Type 2 Diabetes? In type 2 diabetes, your body does not use insulin properly. This is called insulin resistance. At first, the beta-cells make extra insulin to make up for it. But, over time your pancreas isn’t able to keep up and can’t make enough insulin to keep your blood glucose levels normal. Type 2 diabetes can be treated with oral medications, and/or insulin. Type 1 diabetes is always treated with insulin. We are JDRF – Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The Health Care and Social Assistance sector comprises establishments providing health care and social assistance for individuals. The sector includes both health care and social assistance because it is sometimes difficult to distinguish between the boundaries of these two activities. The industries in this sector are arranged on a continuum starting with those establishments providing medical care exclusively, continuing with those providing health care and social assistance, and finally finishing with those providing only social assistance. The services provided by establishments in this sector are delivered by trained professionals. All industries in the sector share this commonality of process, namely, labor inputs of health practitioners or social workers with the requisite expertise. JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. JDRF’s goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until we achieve a world without T1D.
