You’re the reason for our success. Every dollar we put toward research comes from donations. So when you support JDRF with your time, talent, voice and, yes, your money, you enable us to advance even more research. There are many ways to join the JDRF family, but for 45 years there has been only one reason—because we are the organization that will turn Type One into Type None. Take Action – Don’t be indifferent! List of all video credits is located here http://broadcaster.beazil.net/public/credits/youtube/videos/181962 JDRF Ride to cure diabetes is a worldwide international social event. Thousands of people participate in JDRF Ride and try to turn type one into type none. T1D can live in anyone, regardless his nationality, sex, age or color of the skin. It affects all the planet. People around the world understand the seriousness of the disease and join the ride. Every Ride the phrase “turn type one into type NONE” sounds in all the languages. Join JDRF Ride and be the part of a great international organization which is trying to cure our planet from T1D. The JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes is a charitable bike ride that to date has raised $30 million for type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. In type 1 diabetes, the body does not produce insulin. The body breaks down the sugars and starches you eat into a simple sugar called glucose, which it uses for energy. Insulin is a hormone that the body needs to get glucose from the bloodstream into the cells of the body. With the help of insulin therapy and other treatments, even young children can learn to manage their condition and live long, healthy lives.
Type 1 diabetes signs and symptoms can come on quickly and may include:
Bed wetting in children who previously didn’t wet the bed during the night;
Extreme hunger;Unintended weight loss;
Irritability and other mood changes;
Fatigue and weakness;
In females, a vaginal yeast infection. People with T1D would never benefit from JDRF-funded innovations without our donors. The work to create transformational therapies to help people live with T1D cannot—and must not—be allowed to stop because dedicated researchers lack funds. Laboratory studies that are unlocking the mysteries of T1D and accelerating progress toward a cure and prevention must continue. With the generous help of supporters, JDRF is pursuing a diversified, dynamic research agenda that is moving us ever closer to a world without T1D. JDRF is committed to doing the greatest good for the largest number of people in the shortest amount of time so we understand the importance of funding these trials.
