Every year, in different parts of the country, JDRF organizes its special social event – JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes. The Lake Tahoe hosted JDRF Ride and a great number of people participated in the event. People were excited and extremely happy. The overall spirit was high. It’s wasn’t a race, just a ride for everyone. All the riders had one common mission – to cure diabetes and to turn type one into type none. JDRF coaches help the cyclists to keep fit and healthy. Everyone, who is thoughtful, can join the ride. T1D people after their first ride began to feel better and their self-esteem rises enormously. Undoubtedly, every ride, whether in New York or in the Lake Tahoe is the same ride with the same common mission. Joining JDRF Ride means being sympathetic to those, who need our sympathy and help. Full list of Video Credits is stored here http://broadcaster.beazil.net/public/credits/youtube/videos/175722 Type 1 diabetes (Juvenile Diabetes) is usually diagnosed in children and young adults, and was previously known as juvenile diabetes. Only 5% of people with diabetes have this form of the disease.
In type 1 diabetes, the body does not produce insulin. The body breaks down the sugars and starches you eat into a simple sugar called glucose, which it uses for energy. Insulin is a hormone that the body needs to get glucose from the bloodstream into the cells of the body. With the help of insulin therapy and other treatments, even young children can learn to manage their condition and live long, healthy lives.
18.2 million people in the United States (6.3 percent of the population) have been diagnosed with diabetes. 5 to 10 percent of all people with diabetes have Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). The North Bethesda population density is 5,273.09 people per square mile, which is much higher than the state average density of 474.59 people per square mile and is much higher than the national average density of 82.73 people per square mile. JDRF prioritizes its funding for type 1 diabetes research in four interrelated therapeutic areas: autoimmune therapies, β-cell therapies, prevention of complications, and glucose control. Each therapeutic area encompasses a diverse portfolio of research programs that span from exploratory to preclinical proof-of-principle and on to clinical proof-of-concept research. The organization’s overarching strategy focuses on addressing critical gaps and challenges, catalyzing innovative and transformational research, advancing and translating research, creating collaborations, and accelerating time lines at all stages of research development. Health Care and Social Assistance comprises establishments primarily engaged in providing health care by diagnosis and treatment, providing residential care for medical and social reasons, and providing social assistance, such as counselling, welfare, child protection, community housing and food services, vocational rehabilitation and child care, to those requiring such assistance. You’re the reason for our success. Every dollar we put toward research comes from donations. So when you support JDRF with your time, talent, voice and, yes, your money, you enable us to advance even more research. There are many ways to join the JDRF family, but for 45 years there has been only one reason—because we are the organization that will turn Type One into Type None. Take Action – Don’t be indifferent!
