Jextin with Johnny and Zach with their Home Run balls. Johnny has a power showcase shirt on Zach was being a little difficult with putting his on. He wasn’t feeling well today. I was invited to cut the ribbon for the Diabetes walk in May. I am putting together a team to walk in the event. Troy Polamalu (Steelers) sent a signed football for the walk! He’s a great guy. All the money raised for the walk will go to the Miami Diabetes Research Institute in hopes of finding a cure.
Hello all!
Jextin’s benefit was awesome tonight! We raised close to $4000.00 for the families!. The weather got a little tricky with some rain at first but it cleared out just when the event started. It was cold though! The bands were great, food was awesome, and the people had fun! We had a lot of shirt and cause bracelets left over we are going to sell them at the baseball building. We are also going to do some orders for people who couldn’t make it. They could actually make a couple more thousand in t-shirt sales. That’s how many shirts were donated.
I actually got so involved with these two families that we are going to continue to help them. Jextin was invited to the Type 1 diabetes walk in May and they want him to cut the ribbon to start the walk this year. We are also going to help Dec. 1 with a bizarre they are having at the Altoona Curve Stadium in our area.
I am so glad you have this program it was a great learning experience for Jextin! He said he would do again in a heartbeat!!

I am writing on behalf of Jextin Pugh. Jextin has been a part of Flood City Elite travel baseball organization for last 4 years. During his 4 years playing with us Jextin has grown into not only a great player on the field but a great young man of the field as well. He has become a leader on and off the field because of his tremendous work ethic. In a time when a lot of kids like to talk about how good they are Jextin is the total opposite. Jextin lets his hard work and play do the talking for him. In the 4 years I have coached him he has always done everything I have asked and has been a great teammate that other players look up to and respect. Jextin has all the characteristics that make up a leader and he will be very successful on and off the field because of it. – Rick Roberts Flood City Elite
