Rise in type 2 diabetes 'needs change in law'.
A leading health expert says government legislation is needed to halt the rise in type 2 diabetes.
Prescriptions for type 2 diabetes have risen by a third in England in the last five years from 26 million to 35 million a year, according to NHS data.
Prof Anthony Barnett, from the University of Birmingham, said: “I’m all for legislation. I don’t care whether we’re talking about a nanny state.”
