Type 2 diabetes is a rapid growing disease around the world. Apart from individual suffering it causes huge cost for the society.
More than 370 million people around the world are estimated to suffer from diabetes, and among these type 2 diabetes dominates.
Aliasghar Ahmad Kiadaliri is a PhD student at the department of Clinical Sciences in Malmö at Lund University, Sweden. He is currently working on a computer simulation model for calculating society costs of diabetes. It will be the first model which is based on entirely Swedish diabetes data.
These models are normally used by decision-makers and expertise on different levels in the society.
