Vision Voice — Intro
Vision Voice is a photography exhibit that explores the artists’ personal experiences with vision loss and diabetes. To raise awareness about the themes expressed in their work, Vision Voice is intended to reach Harlem residents, health care providers, and community leaders. This project seeks to bring attention to the importance of vision health in a community with high rates of diabetes and other chronic conditions that affect eyesight.
In addition to the photography exhibit, the project team has created a short documentary film that further explores the themes of the photographs, as well as the daily lives and personal narratives of the artists.
